剧情介绍

该剧讲述了明代传奇人物张居正（唐国强 饰）的一生。出身微寒的张居正从乡试秀才、举人、进士，官至内阁大学士，一步步成为治国良相。他协助幼年登基的小皇帝，整饬吏治，刷新颓风，日夜操劳，为即将倾废的明朝基业呕心呖血数载。张居正为国奔忙，连老父亲去世都没顾上回家奔丧，而他自己也于万历十年六月二十日耗尽了最后一丝心血，他死后，神宗帝为之辍朝。由于生前在改革朝制中得罪了一些意见相左的幕僚，加之用人上有些失误，他死后有人开始对当朝展开了诋毁和攻击。而神宗也在张居正生前忌惮他功高盖主，威胁到自己的皇权，于是下令查抄张居正全家......
